Entry Requirements

To apply for the Nitec in Social Media & Web Development course, you need to have:

GCE ‘O’ level grades in any 2 subjects
1-8
or
GCE ‘N’ level passes in Mathematics and 2 other subjects
A – D or 1 – 5

Successful students will be required to purchase Laptop/Tablet which will cost about $500 (for Tablet) to $1200(for laptop) for the 2-year course. This is in addition to the course fees. Progression Opportunities

Nitec in Social Media & Web Development graduates with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 and above may apply for progression to the first year of a related diploma course at the Polytechnics. For more details on diploma courses for progression, please refer to the Joint Polytechnic Admissions website.

Nitec in Social Media & Web Development graduates with a GPA of 2.3 and above may also apply for progression to related Higher Nitec courses offered by ITE.

Nitec in Social Media & Web Development graduates are employed in information communication and digital media industry that create and use interactive web technology for customers, including design firms, advertising agencies, production companies, interactive developers, museums and galleries, government bodies, PR and marketing firms, financial and healthcare companies. Some of the job titles which will be held by graduates include Web Developer, Web Programmer, Interactive Programmer and Flash/Flex Developer.

There are excellent opportunities for career advancement to supervisory positions and beyond. This challenge is for students to upgrade their technical skills and knowledge by taking up higher-level courses.

This course is less suitable for students who do not possess the functional abilities indicated.  If in doubt, please consult your school career guidance officer or visit ITE College for further academic advising.
They work with companies that create and use interactive web technology for customers, including design firms, advertising agencies, production companies, interactive developers, museums & galleries, government bodies, PR and marketing firms, financial and healthcare companies.
